Kings Farm, Cottenham

Eclipse Planning Services advised on a proposal to redevelop Kings Farm, Cottenham, achieving consent for the conversion and extension of two farm buildings to create 2 dwellings and the construction of a 3rd new dwelling.

The site is located inside the development framework, however the agricultural buildings are set to the rear of the existing dwelling that fronts the High Street, are within the village conservation area and in close proximity to listed buildings. Securing a design whereby the new dwellings would continue to appear as ancillary barn-like buildings in both form and character and maintain views through the site from the High Street, was key. Eclipse Planning Services worked closely with the client, architect and heritage consultant, liaising with South Cambridgeshire District Council on the design approach prior to the submission of the planning application, to secure planning permission for the development.
